April’s Demo Day was packed with updates and feature enhancements across Rover ERP, all focused on improving the user experience and boosting operational efficiency. From revamped quoting functionality to deeper part relationships, custom dashboards, and ticketing upgrades, here’s everything you need to know.

Enhanced Quoting in Point of Sale

The Point-of-Sale module received a major upgrade with the introduction of a comprehensive quote table, powered by the new lookup functionality. Users can now:
  • Edit, copy, or create orders from quotes
  • Download or email quotes directly from the interface
  • Configure permissions via MRK.CONTROL for tailored access
The quoting process is also smarter—with cart-based pricing updates, cost method selection (market price or price file), and streamlined part selection using the price table. Once created, quotes are accessible via the customer’s tab in POS—eliminating the need for the old Sales module.

Part Relationships & Guided Quoting

Rover ERP now supports defining complex relationships between parts through nested option groups. This new functionality:
  • Enables grouping of related parts (required or optional)
  • Supports default quantities and required item flags
  • Guides users through quote creation by validating selections
Parts flagged as kits can now be viewed in detail, and selections are enforced before finalizing a quote—ensuring accuracy and upsell consistency.

Dashboard & Navigation Enhancements

With the 2.9 release, users can now:
  • Create multiple personalized dashboards via Web Control
  • Add custom links to the navigation bar (embedded or external)
  • Control access and visibility through Security E2 settings
These enhancements make Rover’s web interface more flexible, customizable, and user-friendly—helping users access critical tools and resources faster.

Production Scheduling Upgrades

The production module also got some love with new scheduling tools:
  • Sub-statuses like “Picker Printed” now appear with color-coded views
  • Live validations support smoother routing and scheduling
  • Drag-to-schedule now auto-scrolls for easier long-order handling
Work order lookup tables are more powerful, and permission-based editing has been refined to prevent unauthorized changes.

Ticketing System Improvements

Ticketing got a UI boost with:
  • A new tabbed interface for opening multiple tickets simultaneously
  • A refresh button to reload filtered ticket views without losing criteria
  • A “recently viewed” tab for quick access
Coming soon: support for attachments within time entries, giving teams more flexibility in managing customer follow-ups without leaving Rover.

Developer Insights: Leveraging AI

We also got a live look at how developers are integrating AI into their workflows using VS Code:
  • Auto-completing PICK code with context-aware logic
  • Converting SQL databases to text with automatic documentation
  • Improving error handling and boosting productivity
AI isn’t just a buzzword—it’s actively enhancing our coding and conversion routines.
